This garden answers a classic new home with classic landscape design: symmetry, pale stone and clipped green. A fountain forecourt sets the tone at the front, while the rear garden steps from alfresco to pool to lawn, finishing at a fire pit tucked into the far corner.

A formal arrival

A tiered fountain sits at the centre of a circular stone forecourt, with paths radiating to the front door and driveway. Lawn and low hedging frame the composition, so the entry reads as one considered piece with the house.

Pool and paving

Large pale pavers with gravel joints run from the alfresco to the pool, softening a wide expanse of stone and tying it to the garden. Frameless glass keeps the pool open to the lawn, edged with a low hedge and a band of red Cordylines for colour against the white cabana.

The fire pit

At the end of the lawn, a curved rendered bench wraps a compacted gravel circle edged in corten steel. It's a destination at the far end of the garden, sheltered by layered screening along the fence.
